food inc.
I found Food Inc. very interesting. it makes me think about where the food i am eating comes from and wonder about the different ingredients and what it all means. Our food system kind of sickens me; treating the animals so poorly. I don't like the idea of the animals being raised in huge shelters with no windows and no fresh air. Also, the fact that they still send out meat and other products that they know have E. coli bacteria which can kill people. I didn't realize big business owners had such an influence in our politics. The new things i have learned about how our food is produced and manufactured leads me to want to buy organic and local food that you know is more healthy and grown on an actual farm. i don't advocate these companies taking control of the lives of the illegal immigrants and forcing them to work in low income jobs because they know they will work for nearly nothing. these companies shouldn't be able to hire illegal immigrants and they should be punished for doing so. our dependence on oil is unbelievable and i think we should be working to find more inexpensive alternative energy methods. Our legal system also does nothing to work toward better, healthier food. They encourage the "factory farms" and do nothing about the salmonella and E.coli outbreaks. As an individual, I could buy local and organic food and possibly plant a garden. Food Inc. really opened my eyes to the food industry and how unnatural it all is.

meeeeee
Hello, my name is Andrea Miller. I really enjoy swimming, running, shopping, sleeping, and eating. I have two siblings, a sister named Kristin and a brother named Ian. My sister and I get along very well and frequently go to the mall and Moe’s on Saturdays. I like listening to Lady Gaga, rollerblading, going to the beach, and bikriding in the summer. I enjoy baking cookies, creating my own stir-fry recipes, and driving. I’m on the cross-country, swimming, and track teams. I love doing sports and if I didn’t compete, I would probably be overweight. I have an extreme fear of motels.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of the blogs I’ve done in the past. For summer reading, we were required to write lengthy blog posts and I absolutely hated it. I would really love to learn about something new, not drugs, alcohol, or relationships. I am unsure of what I want to do for the rest of my life. Therefore, I have no idea where I want to attend college. I’m considering being a dentist or something in the medical field, but I don’t know for sure. I eventually want to get married and have two or more children. I’m not entirely sure if I want to stay and live in Fairview or move to somewhere else, such as North Carolina or Massachusetts.
